What does a Personal Trainer do?
Personal Trainers work at gyms, boot camps, fitness studios and sports clubs to provide one-on-one guidance and advice for clients who want to improve their physical strength and stamina through exercise. Personal Trainer education and training requirements
A Personal Trainer’s education and training requirements are based on the needs of the gym they work at. The most common skills and requirements include a high school diploma or GED, although some go on to obtain a bachelor’s degree in a health-related discipline. Aspiring Personal Trainers through an experienced Personal Trainer is mandatory. Voluntary certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine is optional, but it’s held by many personal trainers
Personal Trainer experience requirements
The required experience of a personal trainer depends on a number of factors based on the changing needs of the gym or facility. Flexibility is very useful, and candidates with extensive training in a variety of areas is ideal. However, all Personal Trainers should possess basic experience in operating gym equipment and giving instructions to others on how to use it.
