Position Overview

The full-time Technical Director/Carpenter is responsible for overseeing the different technical departments, including set, lighting, costumes, props, and sound, while also operating, protecting, and maintaining the Academy theater s technical assets on the Los Angeles campus. Responsibilities:

Oversee immunochemistry laboratory operations, including 96-well ELISA & CLIA, immunoassay and chemistry analyzers.

Facilitate communication between laboratory staff and leadership team

Oversee daily activities and training of immunochemistry team

Assure conformance to state and federal laboratory testing regulations

Establish and monitor quality control and assurance procedures

Organize and review immunochemistry proficiency and accuracy testing

Manage process improvement for current immunochemistry assays

Oversee the development, management, and validation of new immunochemistry assays

Work as part of a team dedicated to ensuring quick turn-around-time for all clinical and research samples.

Work with IT, marketing and, sales teams to prepare tests for commercialization

Ensure equipment and inventory is properly maintained

Creation and maintenance of SOP's

Attend local and national conferences

Conduct periodic presentations

What does a Streaming Video Technical Director do?

Streaming Video Technical Directors will be responsible for dynamically switching cameras and broadcasting Live government meeting productions from all across the country using Swagit's own proprietary broadcast systems. These include, but are not limited to:

What is Required?

Availability within a timeframe of Noon to 2am. Applicants who are unable or unwilling to work up to 2am will not be considered. May include flexible shifts on Mondays - Fridays. Must be willing and flexible to work holidays if needed. Schedules are based upon workload need.

While knowledge of live television technical directing is great, experience with switching cameras or inputs through consumer streaming software like Streamlabs OBS, Open Broadcast Software (OBS) or XSplit is accepted. Knowledge and experience with TriCaster, Broadcast Pix or vMix are great but also not required.

Hesston College seeks a full-time Technical Director for Theatre and Media Services. This 10-month position begins in July 2022, and will be responsible for the direction of all audio and visual services campus-wide as well as the technical direction of all theatre productions.
